Toto Wolff doesn`t think it`s necessary to help Lewis Hamilton win a race in 2022.


The Mercedes driver has only one chance left to extend his streak. Hamilton has won each of the previous 15 seasons in Formula 1, but has yet to win this one.


Wolff promised equal terms for Lewis and George Russell at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.


I guess Lewis doesn`t need priority - that`s not what he ever wanted. The record of winning races in each season is less important to him than the development of the car, the team`s struggle for more victories next season and, hopefully, for the title.


We have always advocated battles between pilots and have never done otherwise - except in cases where one rider has lost the mathematical chances for the championship, and the other claims the title. So we are looking forward to confrontation in equal conditions, on the same tires, - said the chief executive of Mercedes.
